Eleven of the 20 pannists selected for the May 29 semi-final of PanoGrama 2022 will be representing Trinidad and Tobago. The other nine semi-finalists are representing USA, France, Canada, Antigua & Barbuda, St Lucia and Grenada.

The preliminary round of competition for this pan soloist competition was held on May 6-8. Held virtually, it was adjudicated by Grenada's Andy Chichester, Trinidadian Dr. Mia Gormandy-Benjamin and adjunct professor Victor Provost.

The preliminary round was won by US-based pannist David Yundi, followed by Canada's Gabriel Chartrand, Mathieu Borgne of France and T&T's Shaquille Forbes.

Yundi performed Lord Kitchener's "Pan in A Minor"; Chartrand played "Love in Porto Fino"; Borgne played "Happy"; and, Forbes' tune of choice was "Hips Don't Lie."

The final for PanoGrama 2022 is scheduled for Sunday, June 12, at 8 p.m.
