As Carnival 2025 reaches its peak, Trinidad and Tobago welcomed 1,200 excited visitors as the EPIC Carnival Experience docked at the Port of Spain aboard Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas. This grand event marked a significant step in positioning Trinidad and Tobago as a premier global Carnival and cruise destination.

A Celebration of Culture at the Quayside

Passengers were greeted with a vibrant showcase of culture and tradition, featuring:

  • Moko jumbies, traditional Carnival characters, and live entertainment by En ToTo, a local steelpan ensemble.

  • A taste of authentic Trini flavors, including doubles and other local delicacies.

  • High-energy performances by soca and dancehall legends.

Minister of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, Senator Randall Mitchell, emphasized the importance of this strategic partnership, stating:

“The return of Rhapsody of the Seas as a charter for EPIC Carnival Experience is a significant achievement. It highlights the power of our Carnival product and the potential for continued growth in this sector.”

EPIC Carnival Experience: Elevating Carnival Tourism

The EPIC Carnival Experience is an all-inclusive Carnival cruise package, designed to provide visitors with exclusive access to some of the biggest Carnival events. Guests onboard enjoy:

  • A private J’ouvert celebration

  • Live performances from top Caribbean artists

  • Interactive cultural workshops

  • 24-hour premium onboard service, duty-free shopping, and a casino

Extending the Experience to Tobago

The EPIC Carnival Experience also includes an extended Carnival Cool Down in Tobago on Ash Wednesday, featuring a picturesque beach party before heading back to Puerto Rico. This dual-island experience reinforces Trinidad and Tobago as a top-tier adventure and cultural destination.

A Growing Future for Carnival Tourism

During his speech, Jonathon Mack, CEO of EPIC Carnival Experience, announced that this partnership has been renewed for 2026, 2027, and 2028, with plans to expand Carnival tourism even further. The Mayor of Port of Spain, His Worship Chinua Alleyne, suggested that the ship should dock earlier in the season to allow visitors to experience the Kambule Riots re-enactment, providing a deeper appreciation for the roots of Trinidad’s Carnival.

With a perfect blend of festivity and luxury, the EPIC Carnival Experience is set to redefine Carnival tourism and further solidify Trinidad and Tobago as “The Greatest Show on Earth”.
