The United National Congress (UNC) has secured a sweeping victory in Trinidad and Tobago's 2025 General Elections. Celebrations erupted across the country as final results rolled in, confirming UNC's dominance at the polls and a political comeback for party leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

With widespread dissatisfaction over the previous government's handling of economic challenges, crime, and governance, voters turned out in large numbers to demand change. The UNC’s campaign, centered on “Putting People First,” resonated with the electorate—especially in key marginal constituencies that swung decisively in their favor.

This election also saw a significant youth turnout, with younger voters rallying behind promises of job creation, digital transformation, and education reform.

The party reclaimed strongholds in Central and the East-West corridor, while also making surprising gains in urban constituencies once thought to be firmly in PNM hands.

Speaking to a jubilant crowd outside the party’s South headquarters, Persad-Bissessar declared, “The people of Trinidad and Tobago have chosen progress over stagnation. This is a win for every citizen who believes in a better tomorrow.”

As the nation prepares for a transition in leadership, the focus now shifts to governance—where expectations are high and the demand for delivery is urgent.
