Two Sides of the Same Coin: Hammond Bruce Debuts Dual Singles

Trinidadian artiste Hammond Bruce is flipping the script and showing fans his full range with two brand-new singles that couldn’t be more different—but are both 100% him.

The first track, “I Bob The Builder,” is a playful, genre-bending surprise. “I wanted to come out of my comfort zone and do something different,” says Hammond. “One day at work, I said to myself—‘Hammond, you always sing one type of music. Why not surprise your fans with something they wouldn’t expect?” The result is a fun, upbeat anthem that stands in stark contrast to “Burning Hearts,” a more sentimental and emotionally charged release that showcases his softer, introspective side.

“These two songs reflect my life,” he explains. “There’s the carefree, fun-loving Hammond—and then there’s the deeper, more emotional side. It’s two sides of the same coin.”

With a strong message about breaking genre boundaries—“Good music shouldn’t be categorised by genre,” he declares—Hammond Bruce is setting his own pace and promising more unique releases. Fans can expect “Burning Hearts” to lead into Indian Arrival Day, followed by a surprise Calypso drop outside of Carnival, and a powerful international release just in time for Emancipation Day.
